I received this email message from the Google Search Console Team regarding pages on my blog, Costume Crafty: “New reason preventing your pages from being indexed”
The reason … Redirect error.
The email concluded with “If this reason is not intentional, we recommend that you fix it in order to get affected pages indexed and appearing on Google.”
If Google does not index the web pages, the website will not appear in Google search results and search engine optimization SEO fails.
After reviewing the Indexing report, Google Search Console no longer seen my blog or indexed the blog posts. My blog was not found in Google search results or any search engine. The reason “Page with redirect” and “Redirect error”. In looking at the property http://costumecrafty.blogspot.com I realized that it was redirecting to the secured version of the HTTP protocol: https://costumecrafty.blogspot.com
To resolve these redirect errors, try the following:
- Add a new property in the Google Search Console for the HTTPS protocol version of the site.
- In the “Inspect any URL” search box, enter the HTTPS version of the URL
- URL is on Google. Click “Request Indexing”.
- Allow a few days for Google to index the site.
